Why She's On The Site: The first lady of CH, Laurie is without question one of the top working comics in NYC...The first time I've seen Laurie perform was at the Jim Norton Roast in which CH named her the MVP. That night Laurie referenced Vos' tanning habits to his dead Jewish ancestors in the holocaust, Norton's liver spots to puncture wounds from a coat hanger, and Greg Giraldo's apparent hatred for his wife...I was curious to see if her regular act was similar, and it lives up to her performance form that night...Laurie is a feminist's nightmare. She will poke fun at rape, abortions, dating minorities, and other sensitive topics most comedians couldn't pull off. Her act isn't forced or a novelty like a certain Lisa Lampenelli...One of the smartest & hardest working performers I've seen

Official Bio: A seasoned comic who has performed in Iraq, the United Kingdom, forty of the fifty US States, the Montreal Comedy Festival and a laundromat, Laurie Kilmartin's combination of quick crowd work, an engaging personality and finely crafted jokes make her one of comedy's funniest women. Laurie is currently a staff writer for Comedy Central's "Tough Crown with Colin Quinn", and has appeared on the show several times. Laurie also has been seen on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, the USO Tour, Shorties' Watchin' Shorties and The World Stands Up, in addition to appearances on the Metro Channel, A&E, and Lifetime. Laurie currently lives in West Harlem, with her people, the Dominicans. She would not move back to her home state of California for all the money in the world.
