A Tribute To Mike DeStefano
An all-star tribute for the Mike DeStefano Foundation
An all-star tribute honoring the late Mike DeStefano
In March of 2011 the comedy world was dealt a crushing blow as beloved New York City comedian Mike DeStefano suffered a fatal heart attack. A recovering addict who dealt with and overcame many tragedies throughout his life, Mike dedicated his existence towards helping others through the gift of stand-up comedy. Always candid and genuine, Mike always wore his heart on his sleeve and managed to touch so many people’s lives by being incredibly honest & caring towards whomever he crossed paths with.
A few weeks before his death, Mike put together his most personal piece of work, a one man show called Drugs, Disease, and Death: A Comedy. The five show run featured Mike sharing his story to a small captive audience that was reduced to tears and laughter. Only Mike could garner such strong emotions from the crowd in such an entertaining fashion. Mike’s goal with the show was to bring his message to a mass audience.
We are here to carry on his legacy with the Mike DeStefano Foundation, dedicated to helping people who are in recovery. It’s what Mike was set to do with his one man show before he was abruptly taken away from us.
In addition to a great lineup of comedy, this event will feature rare footage of Mike DeStefano as well as tributes from friends and family. Please join us for a special night as we tribute and remember a truly talented and gifted person that the comedy world misses dearly.

To All,
Mike was a personal friend of mine and I never met anyone as giving as me was. I worked at a treament center in Queens, New York and Mike gave a show every Christmas. It’s a time of year where addicts that are trying to recover go through tears, remorse and guilt. Mike was there to help the sick and suffering person get through those trying times with laughter. Thank you Mike for your undying service and the gift of laughter. You will always be remembered and the legacy you leave behind will touch the lives of many.
We love you
What an emotionally-charged and hysterical show. It was as much a tribute to Mike as it was a laugh riot, with Rich Vos leading the way. Rich was great as the evening’s host, and all of the comics that performed were great. Robert Kelly, once again, was the stand-out stand-up. The situations he presents his absurdity in are astounding and easily-identifiable.
This was a tribute to the legacy of Mike DeStefano, and he would have loved it. I know I did!
